Considering Summit
 

My husband and I are eyeing the Summit for a possible fall cruise this year. We've never been on Celebrity (we've been on RCCL, Carnival, Princess and NCL, with NCL being our favorite so far) and were curious what to expect.

What is Celebrity like in terms of service, entertainment, food, public spaces, etc.? What is the Summit like in general? Is there a private spa area? Is there a cigar bar (my husband wants to know this ;))? How is the gym?

Any opinions would be much appreciated!

Celebrity is a premium cruise line, like Princess. I liked the Summit and have also been on the Constellation twice and just got off the Infinity (all the same class). Yes, they have a nice gym and spa. I have always liked the food and thought it much better than NCL. If you are taking the Summit to New England and Canada I can tell you it is filling up very fast. One thing also the New England /Canada cruise will have a much older crowd because of the time of year and where it is going. Michael's Club was the cigar club but not anymore. Smoking is very limited on Celebrity. Go on line and take a virtual tour of the inside of the ship.

Please note that after reading some reviews, the summit is scheduled for a facelift- make sure that when you plan your trip it isn't scheduled. I have been on the solstice class ships and they are new and modern- perhaps you might want to consider them.
