Surcharge for the Porch

We are sailing on the Silhouette on November 6. I have heard that there is a $5.00 surcharge for the Porch eating area. I am assuming this is a one time charge?
Any information regarding this would be very much appreciated.

Thank You!

Surcharges are for each visit, per person.

Just returned from the Silhouette and thought the $5 surcharge for the Porch was absurd. The problem is that Porch has a limited menu of some soups, salads and paninis. The paninis were good, but you could also get paninis (and salads) the the regular buffet area where the selection was better then at the porch...and where you do not have a surcharge. We think the $5 charge is more of a nuisance charge...not to mention that you will also find yourself paying for a drink since they do not have free drink dispensers in the Porch. Of course you could decide to rent a cabana (for only $149 on a sea day) and then they will give you free lunch in the porch (for 4 persons) :)

I wonder if the company line is that the $5 Porch charge is for 'capacity control', which is the official reason Royal Caribbean charges $4.95 for Johnny Rockets. Of course, the real reason in both cases is to extract a bit more money from the guests with the side benefit of capacity control.
