We just returned from a cruise on the Solstice. I have two children and were with another couple with two children as well. All ages between 11-13. The cruise was great, ship very clean and the food presentation and portions were exceptional. We cruise yearly and this was the first time on Celebrity. We found that the ship lacked adequate activities for children in this age bracket. My wife and I are not one to participate in most of the onboard activities ut this ship had very few chices. The first full day at sea there was a Brunch as well as Afternoon Tea that my wife and friend attended. They said that it was very nice and that I should have attended. On the last day ofthe cruise, at sea, they did not repeat this offerings. Additionally, they had advertised pictures with the Captain from 8:00 - 8:30 PM on one night. However, when we went to get in line at 8:20, we were told that there would be no more people allowed in line to take the picture.
Would I cruise on Celebrity again? Yes I would but I would not bring any children.
I did a pre-view cruise on the Equinox last year and I agree with you about the children. This class of ships seems more of a fit for people 18 or older. Maybe 30 or over.
Car2331, thank you so much for this information. We will be sailing on Celebrity Soltice Sept. 26th.
Glad you had a good time.

Hi Car2331, welcome to Cruise-Chat! I agree with you, too. We were on the Solstice last December. They did have a children's program, but it seemed to be more intensive for the 3-8 year old groups. We found the ship to be very clean, too. I did enjoy the glass blowing.
Sounds like, for the most part, you had a good cruise and I'm very glad to hear that.
Hello,
We did go on the Solstice. It was our first time on a Celebrity cruise. I found it to be the most boring ship I have ever been on.
I feel the Bingo was a waste of time. It was the first ship we played Bingo on that the payouts were very low, especially considering the cost to play.
The ship was clean, the food was not the best we have ever had.
I was surprised to see that you could get escargot every night.
I did like the age of the people on the ship.
Sandy
