If what I have read about X is true they have a strict smoking policy. No smoking anywhere except designated areas ...... I hope so because if they enforce these rules I will be back to X....
I honestly can't remember any smoking at all in the Casino for as long as I have cruise with Celebrity. Half of the Ocean Grill outside is for smokers and 1/2 of one lounge. It was very strange to me when we went on NCL how I had forgotten about the Casino, they do allow smoking in the Casino and it was very smokey to tell you all the truth.
I can attest to the policy. There is no smoking in any cabin, on any balcony, in any public area. There is a section in one of the outdoor bars, on one deck and one side of the ship and one side near the pool. That's it, period.
It was very refreshing, pun intended, to enjoy the casino without smoke.

There was no one enforcing the smoking policy. We are just back from the Century and had friends in two differant balcony cabins on differant floors and both had smokers either side of them.I also witnessed smoking on the open deck on 11. The wind was going the other way so it did not bother us. But I was disapointed in lack of enforcement.
The policy allows smoking in designated indoor and outdoor areas. Are you saying the smoking on the Resort Deck was in unapproved locations?
Did your friends report the balcony smokers? Otherwise I don't see how the cruise line could enforce that part of it unless they found evidence or caught them redhanded. I'm not condoning the rules violations, but it is pretty much impossible to control what goes on in a cabin balcony.
Yes I am saying yhe smoking on deck 12 was not a designated area. And yes the one couple said they reported the smoking and they could not pin point the cabin. But several cigars going in one cabin/balcony area should tip off the cabin steward, wouldn't ya think?. The other couple was afraid of retaliation all young hispanics raising ten kinds of hell. I don't know maybe it is just me, but when rules are put out there I expect them to be enforced.
