New Beverage Packages

I have been watching the Celebrity website for the new beverage package information. I usually order a bottle of wine for the room, but Celebrity still allows 2 bottles for carry onto the ship.

But I couldn't believe the pricing ! Not even for Celebrity... $80 for one bottle of liquor, six sodas for mixing, and some snacks. Geez, if my Captain Morgan costs me $16, the sodas and snacks allow for 500% markup.

But I can get a Frozen Drink Package for the same $80, unlimited frozen drinks for the cruise. Some folks will cringe at this, but that one seems ok.

There is also the usual soda packages, but water was $13.50 a day, seems steep, I can alcohol in my frozen for the same ???

I didn't see the frozen drink option in the booklets they sent me. That really isn't such a bad deal. I looked at the alcohol one, too. At $10/ea for a martini, that's 8 martinis. I think they're even more than that if you want Grey Goose. So, $80 isn't that bad, but we don't use sodas for mixers. We like dirty martinis, so we'd need olive juice. Guess I could bring that from home. However, I think we'll just go to the bars. I want to see the ice bar, and a bar is probably going to be the only place on the ship to smoke. I'll look again tonight to see if I can find the frozen drink option. That would be fine.

I agree Penny, as usual. A couple frozen drinks during the day seems easy, maybe three on sea days, and one on a port day. Eight drinks brings about even, the rest is just an enjoyable afternoon

I didn't post a link because you have enter your password and reservation number to get there. They started on Oct 18th on the Millenium, for cruises sailing after Oct 26th. The rest of the fleet and the Frozen drink option begins on November 15th for sailings after Nov 27th.

I would love to hear from someone recently off the Millenium. I will also be hanging on to listen how your sailing went Penny.

I just went to purchase it on-line. The website stated I couldn't do it until after November 15th, so I'll go back then. I'll have them freeze everything

Now i became curious about these beverage packages and had a look at Celebrity-homepage too.

Unbelievable...a beer-package is $ 350 on our 10-day-cruise...that's $ 35 a day. So you have to be drunk all day long

Mario3107, I'll let you know when I get back if they have the bucket o' beer offers. We've bought those on other lines, you pay for 4 and get 5. We bring them back to the room and leave them in the refrigerator. $35/day, that's about 7 beers. You're right, you'd be drunk all day long

The prices listed now are more than yesterday... the frozen drink package is now $110, that no longer makes sense for me, nor do any of the other packages. I think I am an average drinker on a cruise, and although I will drink a frozen cocktail at the pool, wine getting ready and with dinner, and maybe a cocktail whilst gambling. These packages seem to cater to heavier drinkers, that they used to always make money on, and now it is kind of encouraging them to drink more ???

Maybe it depends on the cruise, this one is 10 nights. I will say that I had 1 frozen drink on NCL and it was yummy but it also was $10, that could add up pretty fast on a 10 day cruise. Anyway it is some options. With my spouse not drinking and Celebrity letting you take 2 bottles onboard and CC Class giving you a bottle of Champagne, it works out for me I guess. I could get myself in trouble with all those frozen drinks

Riiiiiiiight janfred, so you would have to average more than 2 let's just say 3 frozen drinks a day, plus your wine and champagne. Who is Celebrity marketing to ?? The all-inclusive, all you can drink folks ???
