Here are the different packages. It's definitely a separate package for the beer.

Yes, it is definitely a different package, but that was not explained when he purchased the package. He was told that he could have as many drinks as he liked each day. I ordered a frozen drink at the pool bar because I bought the frozen drink package. I didn't know the pool bar used larger glasses, just plastic ones, so I didn't know I was going to be charged for a drink that was included in my package.

Ron decided to stick to bloody marys for his lunch, those were included. It just is a little strange, but they should have explained it a little better. To me, if you bought a package, then any drink under X amount of dollars should have been ok. A beer was less than a bloody mary or a martini, but not included. Now we know, but it would have been nicer to have known before we were charged extra.

Sometimes it seems a lot of things cruise lines do don't make sense. For instance; on my recent Royal Caribbean cruise on Brilliance of the Seas the Diamond party offered free wine for three hours. However; if you wanted a coke or beer they charged and gave you a 25% discount. Now in my thinking a glass of wine cost a whole lot more than a coke. But they can't give you a free coke at the Diamond party??

I wish Carnival offered a Beer Package. On the other hand, I could imagine a lot of people being cut off.

I note the words "available at all bars" are used for both the frozen drink and classic cocktail packages. I guess not when it comes to bars that use different glass sizes. That is misleading.

Oh, I know I will have a great time, Thanks Penny. I just re-evaluated my drinking package purchase. Like many others who enjoy a few cocktails, I have decided NOT to change my habits to accomodate a drinking package. They will allow me to bring aboard two bottles of wine, and I know I will get coupons to discount the purchase of a couple more. I may order a cocktail at a casino table, I may have a frozen drink by the pool, but I will not be worrying about the size of my glass

On a happier note, I have been kvetching about the airline prices from Detroit to Miami, and have been shopping them for six months now. Today I saved $200 ! I know, I cut it pretty close, but I used a coupon code, booked directly through American and got exactly what I wanted today !! Yeah !!!

Thanks Penny, it was just so frustrating when the flights were $300+ for 6 months. Just wanted a fair deal, and was ready to give up and pay, when the discounts started coming. The hotels are also dropping, I think the decrease of winter travel is hitting everyone hard.

(Not Penny) but unfortunately, my pictures got lost in a computer crash. I wouldn't hesitate one second to jump on that opportunity.
