Since I am being sponsored by CruiseMates for the inaugural events I'll be posting updates from the Equinox on that forum, and I'll link to them in this forum. I hope to give you even more reasons to be excited about your cruise! Equinox certainly looks to be wonderful.
Sandy, we are going during the holidays. Our daughter lives in Ft. Myers, so after the cruise she and her husband will pick us up in Ft. Lauderdale. We will spend a few days with them, which will be fun and a nice way to end our vacation.
Dave, I'll look forward to your reports. We have never been on a mega-ship, so this will be a new experience for us. I can just see myself standing in one of the hallways and saying "Where am I?"!!

Nadine, not to worry. Equinox's sister ship, Solstice, is very easy to find your way around. Although a big ship at 122,000 tons, it doesn't feel overwhelming. You'll soon find your favorite rooms and will migrate there at some point each day. And finding your stateroom will be good exercise!
Dwayne, we went on the Grandeur when she was a new ship and it was a thrill. We are looking forward to this one.
Sandy, I do get a lot of exercise on any ship when looking for my stateroom. We generally pick cabins in the front third of the ship. My problem is trying to figure out which way is the front! It's a standing joke with my husband and I because I am always going the wrong way. BUT, I lose weight on almost every cruise, so my bad sense of direction has some perks!
Yep, it sounds like us. Usually he drives, though, and I navigate. It's funny because I would rather use a map than the GPS. I just haven't gotten used to it yet. He thinks I'm behind the times, but I get us where we are going, so what the heck!
More Equinox excitement--our friends in Washington state called and they are joining us on the cruise.
I can't tell you how much it means to have cruise-chat friends to share each aspect of cruising--from the time of booking, through planning excursions, to celebrating the "doc dance", and finally to hear "Bon Voyage", it's just great!
What fantastic news Nadine! Holidays in the warmth is so fantastic. I was excited about the Solstice, so I know you've got to be giddy about the Equinox. Are you going this year or next? Maybe we'll pass you, we sail on the 13th, so you should be leaving as we come back, unless you're doing the New Year's cruise. I am so happy for you! Can you and your friends smuggle me in your suitcases? My hubby could care less, and I really don't want to go back to the cold
