What can you tell me about the Century? I am considering booking a cruise on that ship for March 9th. I am so confused as to which cruise to take at this point!

Jeff the Century is due for drydock in May of 2006. And Joey and David I read your review of the ship on cruise critic. We are very excitied, I hear the ship though needs updating is still very nice.

If its due for Dry dock in May, does that mean that its worn and in bad shape? Do you want to sail a ship that is due to go in dry dock? I dont know if that makes sense, but it seems maybe the ship would be a little weathered and in need of updating. Just asking because I need to make a decision on a cruise soon and this is one of the ships I am considering.

I hear that the ship is still very beautiful and was recently named one of the top 10 ships in the world. Though I do also hear that she is showing signs of wear. Deck chairs, bathrooms, and some of the seating throughout the ship is a bit wore but nothing to complain about.Unless your one of those people who go on cruises just to complain. (god I hate those people!)

I am definitely not a complainer. But I have been tasked with locating a great cruise for us and another couple. I keep changing my mind, going back and forth. I am considering this shop leaving Ft Lauderdale on March 9th. or the Princess Star Princess on March 5th or March 19th. How would Celebrity Century compare with Princess?

I myself have never cruised with Princess. They are larger ships which means more people. Its really what your looking for. If you want great service, wonderful food, and less people Celebrity and Holland America are the best choices. The Star Princess is a newer bigger ship. And what Ive gathered a little more in price. Hope you have a wonderful time whichever line you decide to go with. My advice is to read lots of reviews of each ship, comparison shop. Its all on what your looking for really and each cruise line caters diffrently to everyone.

I was on the Century back in May on the Baltic cruise. I thought she was a beautiful ship and was surprised when I heard she was going into dry dock. I was on the Island Princess in Alaska in 2003. Both are good cruise lines and I thought the food was great on both of them.
