We just booked a 12-night Western Mediterranean sailing for next October 12th, departing from Venice and ending in Barcelona. Does anybody have thoughts on this line, ship or itinerary? We've read many, many reviews and they generally seem favorable but I always look for more feedback. Thanks to all!

We just got back from 11 days cruise in Celebrety Summit to the Southern Carabien und like the cruise line but would like Europe next time. Can you tell me how many ports you are going to? Did you book through a travel agent? Sounds like a great cruise you are going on.

We did the opposite this past June. We sailed the Millie from Barcelona to Venice. Celebrity is outstanding at cuisine, ambience and service. However we thought entertainment was lacking. Depending on your age, that might not matter. But we like to stay up after 10:00 and there really isn't a lot to offer passengers. However you'll be in the Med, which means long days and early mornings, if you want to see as much as you can.
At the port of Livorno you have to decide if you want to see Pisa or devote all your time to Florence. Trust me when I say you can never have enough time in Florence!!! Pisa is really just the tower. Not really worth the 2 or 3 hours out of your day.
The same dilemna faces you in Villfrance. Nice or Monaco? Doing both is a long day. We have been there 3 times and last time we journeyed to Cannes for a great day by the sea.
You will certainly enjoy your self.

Hi avery,

the alternative restaurant is called "Olympic". It features original wall panels from the RMS "Olympic", an identical sister ship to the infamous "Titanic".

From everything I have heard, having dinner there at least once during a cruise on the "Millennium" is a must-do, indeed.

Best regards,

Dinner in the Olympic is a definite MUST! They a a small exhibit on how they extracted the wood from the Olympic and installed it on the Millie.
The menu is traditional to the Olympic's and the service is extraordinary. Wwomen are escorted to the washroom and back to the table. Most meals are finished tableside. The wine list is 20 pages thick!
After your meal you can have a guided tour of the wine cellar if you ask.
Without a doubt it is one of the best dining experiences on the seas, and is better than 95% of land restaurants in the world.
Fork out the $10 per person and put on your best clothes. You won't regret it

I sailed the Eastern Carribean on the Millinium last spring. It was awesome! The food, service and ambiance could not be beat. I just came back from a cruise on the Grand Princess and although it was a nice ship it couldn't come close to the Millinium. Have a great trip!
