Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions for shore excursions for these ports? I'm interested in some hikes, but am wondering about the transportation there being a bit bumpy. Your thoughts? Thanks all!! |
Hi:
We'll be at both locations this winter. In Dominica we found this place and made hiking reservations. Lots to choose from. http://www.khattstours.com/ In Grenada we will be taking a private hiking tour of Concord Falls with Mandoo Tours. They charge $25 per hour. Our first time there we went with Pete's Mystique Tours and did the Seven Sisters Falls hike...about a 45-minute hike through rainforest and very nice. Stopped to buy some spices along the way. The roads on Grenada are winding, steep and downright scary in spots. Lots of poor folks...very sad. |
The Emerald Falls in Dominica is a nice hike. Yes, the roads in both places are narrow, winding and scary in places.

Bob1958, that sounds like a great plan to me http://bestsmileys.com/lol/21.gif I normally try to not look where we're going, and take in the scenery. It petrifies me when we meet another bus going around the hair-pins. Somehow they get around, no brakes, just horns. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...s/icon_eek.gif

The last time I was on Grenada, I went on a van tour of the island and ended up at the Nutmeg factory....very interesting.....remember to stock up on spices there:-)...Happy sailing...

Most definitely, Berick1234, the spices are so fresh! We did a tour to the rain forest once and then they went by the homes of those much more fortunate than I with a stop at a market place that had the aroma of fresh nutmeg. It was divine.
