The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge is now open and just had their Grand Opening ceremony a week ago. It looks like they did a good job with the museum. I have friends who have already visited the museum. Each person attending the museum gets a name of a passenger that sailed on the Titanic. As you go through the museum you will learn the fate of your person. My friend was given the name John Astor who didn't survive. Titanic Museum

How exciting! I can't wait to go. Maybe we can get up there this summer. Getting the name of a passenger makes it more interesting, what a unique idea.

I haven't been to the museum in Pigeon Forge, but have been to the one in Orlando and in Branson MO. The one in Branson is really great and they do the same thing with the name thing. I bet the one in Pigeon Forge is very similar to this one. If you've never been to one of these you will enjoy it very much!!

I've been to the maritime museum in Halifax, Nova Scotia which has a good Titanic display.
The idea of getting a name on the ticket and finding them is used in the Underground Hospital Museum in Jersey, Channel Islands. They are the only part of England to be occupied by the Germans in WWII and they carved out this underground area to use for a hospital. My "person" turned out to be lady who was jailed as a collaborator after the war.

Jill, I agree about the exhibit in the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic in Halifax. Of course, Halifax is an important city in Titanic's history, as it was the center of operations for the recovery. A visit to the cemeteries is very moving, also.
