If a Greek cruise line buys her, will the EPA still fine the owners?since the ship isn't waste?

Probably not, Ron. Unless this is a try to pass her on to the next cash buyer who plans to sell her for scrap, I guess.

New update on Save a Classic Liner Campaign, SS Independence is in Dubai for sale. She is supposed to have a couple of interested buyers, but time will only tell. Better she is in Dubai than on a beach in that s__t hole Alang. Hope she is bought soon, aeshtically she still looks a million dollars.

I not sure but I know some one who lives in Bhavnagar India and sells some items from the ships broken in Alang and he claims the Indy / Oceanic is there in Alang beached and they have removed a lot of the items from the ship and are going to start breaking up the hull. He even has some of the interior brass lights for sale. So????? He claims it is beached there for a short time now but that they are stripping her now. I'm not sure what to think now

I sent this guy a picture of the Indy and this is what he said ( "We have one very large vessel here at Alang which is American vessel but it does not have name on it. I checked the pictures attached by you and the vessel beached at Alang shipbreaking yard plot no. 79 is look like same" ). I'm not sure if he know what he is talking about or not but he says its in Alang????? I wish I knew if this was a rumor or not. Don't know how to find out. I hope it is a rumor.

Classic Liners,

if there is "one very large vessel" at Alang, it has to be "Blue Lady" rather than "Oceanic". She is dramatically larger than "Oceanic".

Maybe your friend can send you a picture.

He knows the Norway this is a different ship. I sent him a picture and he said it looks like the same ship. I asked about pictures of this ship and the Norway but he says this (I can not send you current picture of SS NORWAY because photograph is strictly prohibited in Indian ship breaking yard and the vessel is very controversial vessel, so NO one can take pictures of the vessel. There is very high security at Indian ship breaking yard. Sorry for the same.) I don't know if he is correct or not about Indy. But he did say that besides Norway there is this other American Liner.???? He even named the the plot as being number 79. Maybe Peter friend would know if this is true or not? As I did say he knows of Norway because he is selling some items from her.
