The wonderful U.S. built classic passenger ship currently named SS The Rainbow headed out of Greece today, under her own steam power, for Port Said and then the breakers at Alang. The ship was built as the SS Santa Rosa for Grace Lines by Newport News Shipbuilding in 1958. I believe this is the last steam powered passenger ship that still could operate with it's own propulsion plant. Here
is the wikipedia info.
I saw this ship as the Regent Rainbow at Cozumel in the 1990s.
