North and South American

Does anyone remember the North American and the South American, two cruise ships that sailed around the great lakes until the 1960's.

I haven't yet studied the Great Lakes cruise ships, yet I just googled these and enjoyed my brief introduction to them. I'd love to hear your memories.

I remember them coming into Parry Sound when I was very small. I used to run inside when they were leaving because the "farewell" blast from the horn was loud and scary. I'll have to see if I still have pictures of these ships.
