I was sorry to see Renaissance "go under". Among other things we loved the smoke-free ships. We sailed with them first on the s/s Aegean when they chartered her as a start-up, then later on R8(?) in a balcony cabin. I remember her as being short enough to turn around in the harbor on Minorca.

We have have sailed on the R8, if that's the one that is now the Royal Princess. I know our cruise director told us which one she was, but I can't remember.

Royal Viking - Not sure if it's the same one, but there's a Royal Viking sailing the Nile.
RCCL never had a ship called royal Viking. However, they had one calle "Sun Viking" which is now "Long Jie".

There was Royal Viking Line (which was partly a daughter company of NCL) who had the RV Star, Sky, Sea, Sun and Queen.

Thanks Svein, it was a long time ago when I sailed her, guess it was the Sun Viking. It was RCCL, though, because it had the Crown Lounge. I have the t-shirts from the fitness club and the souvineer glasses. I could have sworn it was the Royal Viking though, but my memory isn't what it used to be
