Does the old Regal Empress still sail out of Ft. Lauderdale?

Good question. I've read several reports, but do not have confirmation, that she was laid up temporarily in Freeport and is heading for Alang. Imperial Majesty had previously announced that they were to get a replacement ship, as Regal Empress' days were numbered under the existing SOLAS regulations.
I had wanted to give her one last spin, but I don't think this will happen.

Regal Empress is on her way to Alang beaches to be broken for scrap. A beautiful history write-up can be found here, her life and her final days...

Thanks, Smiffy. I'll take that as the confirmation I was seeking.
Although we all knew this day was coming soon, that doesn't make it easier. She is certainly among my favorite ships.

Regal Empress arrived in Port Said on May 14 and is due to transit the Suez Canal at any time. The AIS systems are very patchy on coverage for that area of the world so its a case of keeping an eye open for her. She has had engine trouble whilst in the Med which put her behind schedule, the easiest AIS system freely available online to track ships is this one...

Sad to hear, I wish I had booked a cruise on her before they pulled her from service.
