My wife and I are booked on the Regatta for a 14-day Baracelona-Venice cruise in Oct. This is our fist cruise since we were kids (and we're now in our late 50s). I have M.S. and get around with a cane, using a scooter that disassembles if I know I'll have to walk more than about 3 long city blocks. From reviews I've read, it appears the scooter will be fine to get around aboard, (we're in a veranda stateroom on deck 6), but I'm not sure what, if any, of the shore excursions I'll be able to participate in. I can walk off the ship and to a bus, but I don't want to do much walking after that. (I don't think the scooter will work well on European streets and it probably can't be tendered). Thoughts???

If walking distances is a problem you may want to consider a private tour.
You are not pushed to keep up with the bus tour and can tour at your own pace. I am sure the crew could get your scooter on the tender without any problem. We had a lady with us on tour in a wheelchair and she managed the tender fine. |
