I'm debating on whether to get airport transfers through RCCL or just take a cab from the airport to the port in Ft. L. Which is cheaper? Which is less confusing? They look close to one another but how would I tell a cab driver where to drop us off at the port? There are 5 of us so we may have to take two cabs...unless there are shuttles available. Just trying to keep expenses down. Thanks for your help...

Hi there,

Are you staying overnight in FLL or arriving the same day? I ask because we usually say at Sleep Inn, very reasonable, shuttle from the airport and also to the ship. I would say if you are arriving same day and also if you have early flights back home the same day the ship docks then maybe a transfer would be better. I peronally have never used them except when I sail from Canaveral and even then only on the return journey The other option would be to get a van from the airport, depends on how much luggage you are taking. either way it is not far from airport to cruise terminal so 2 cabs would be fine.

You could walk from the airport to the port, just kidding. It is really close. I can't remember the exact cab fare, but it was around $10. The nice thing about taking a cab is not having to fight with the luggage and not having to wait for everyone to show up for the shuttle. Hope this helps and have a wonderful cruise!!

Thank you. I was very hopeful that it was as simple as taking a cab(s) from the airport to the port for a very inexpensive price. We are not going in the night before. I did that on a previous cruise but there was some distance to travel to get to the port from the airport. I agree that shuttles can be a drag so for $10-$20 I think the cab ought to do it for us. Thanks so much.

I concur with staying at the Sleep Inn, the free shuttle, the free breakfast and the convenience of the Walgren's and the strip mall are all plus's!
