Hotels in NY

It's been a while since I've been here, or asked a question but I've got one now since I'm booked to sail on the Explorer next year out of NY, or is it NJ, I never know if they are the same thing.
Anyway, my family are flying into NY the night before we sail but as yet we don't know what hotel we're staying in. It's all getting booked thro' RCI via a TA. Would anyone here know?
Also if we want to stay an extra few days after we sail can anyone recommend a good hotel in NY.
The problem we might face is we're not due to be back in NY until the day after Thanksgiving so I'm assuming the prices will be higher at that time of year.

Royal Caribbean sails out of Bayonne, NJ. If you are doing a hotel through RCI as a pre-cruise they are using the Marriott Marquis. Your TA should be able to verify that for you. Two hotels you might try are Holiday Inn Midtown on 57th street, or the Hilton Garden Inn on 8th Ave. I have stayed at both and found both to be nice properties. The Hilton Garden is not too far to walk to Times Square. The Holiday Inn was further to walk to Times Square but still not a bad walk.

The cruise lines always have a disclaimer that allows them to select an alternative hotel, but for everyone that I have booked with RC pre-cruise, they stayed at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in NYC.
