Miami Friday departure

We are sailing on Friday out of Miami and have a room booked in Ft Lauderdale the night before. What should we expect in terms of traffic driving to the port and how long should it take to get there from near the airport in Ft. Lauderdale? Any particular time of day that is better than other times?

Most hotel check out is at 11am. If you grab a cab after checking out then you should be arriving at the pier just about the right time to check in. Traffic shouldn't be too bad at that time of the morning.
