Helloooo
Just one more question....
Any suggestions on where to leave our vehicle once we get to the port?
I was thinking the hotel we book will keep it.
Does anyone else have any suggestions or advice?
Thanks
Darcie
Darice, Please help us help you and give us information on your cruise, so we can answer your questions with other than smart answers like "in a parking lot" and "I hope th ehotel doesn't keep your car, that's an awlfully expensive hotel stay"

we are leaving out of Ft Lauderdale or so I've learned Port Everglade....
We plan on driving to Florida, my husband wants to experience the drive...with 4 teenagers. No comment from me! *smile*
They just raised the parking rates from $12 to $15 per day at many of the Florida ports including Port Everglades. Add'l info below....
Driving Directions and Parking Information
Port Everglades
S.E. 10th Avenue
Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301
Port Everglades is approximately 2 miles from Fort Lauderdale International Airport and 30 miles from Miami International Airport. Parking is $15.00 per day (rates subject to change by Port Authority).
Main Entrance - I-595 is an East/West Interstate with connections to I-95, the Florida Turnpike, US 1, State Road 7 (441), I-75 and the Sawgrass Expressway. Take I-595 East straight into Port Everglades. Once in Port Everglades, I-595 becomes Eller Drive/10th Avenue. At the traffic light, proceed straight on 10th Avenue. You will approach a sign with instructions directing you to the assigned terminal. The entrance to the Midport Parking Garage is on the left side of 10th Avenue.
North Entrance - Take US 1 or A1A to 17th Street causeway in Fort Lauderdale and turn south onto Eisenhower Blvd.
US 1/Federal Highway Entrance - At the intersection of State Road 84 East and US 1 (Federal Highway), turn east into the seaport.
We just got back from Port Everglades, they charged me $19/day. We left out of terminal 21 and it was much more organized than the north end of the port. We were in and out in no time, not so for terminal 4 which is at the north end. There were 2 RCI ships in port at the same time and both of them were in the south end. I was thinking about parking at the airport and taking a cab into the port, but I doubt the rates would be much cheaper. Then it's a $10/fare plus tip to get to the port, so it'd probably be a wash.
I booked to say before and after the cruise at Sleep Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale. The parking there while we are away is 7.00 a day!! They have afree shuttle to the port!!
Thanks for everyones advice!!!
Sounds like your best bet. At $7 per day you are getting off cheap. Just make sure they know to coem pick you up on your return leg. Actually the shuttle to the ship will be much easier than trying to drive to the port and park the car.. that can be a hassle.
Sounds like your set...
