Quick question for those who have sailed the 3 day baja cruise on the Monarch. We are staying 1 extra night after our cruise in Los Angeles. We would like to get over to Universal Studios after we disembark the ship. Would it be better to transfer with the cruise line to LAX (to pick up a car) or just take a cab?

any imput would be appreciated.

If you are staying another night it might make more sense to get a rental car, but then again if you aren't used to LA traffic it can take some getting used to! Personally I'd stick with cabs.

Just another suggestion; Gray Line has some great tours from airport area hotels. Your hotel might have a shuttle to meet you at the pier; or take a Super Shuttle or Prime Time shuttle--it would be less expensive than a cab. And you could arrange a Gray Line tour to Universal Studios and maybe Hollywood, Sunset Strip, Griffith Park, Etc.
But Dave is right--avoid driving if possible--it can be a nightmare!
