Hi michael bulger, welcome to Cruise-Chat! Congratulations on your up-coming cruise! I believe the Holiday Inn offers a precruise stay and free parking. I also think that LaQuinta has a package. Sorry I can't give you first hand recommendations, I've not sailed out of Galveston before. I know JimC has and hopefully he'll see your post.

An option is to "google" or "bing" park and cruise hotels in galveston . . . did that for San Diego. Another option is to check out the port's website and/or the city's tourist-oriented website. There are usually links or references at those sites.

The Holiday inn is the best place. They have a large lighted parking lot and they will shuttle you to the terminal too. Reason price for the hotel stay (considering the $50 you would have to pay for the parking anyway. If you don't need a place to stay, try EZ Cruise parking... they offer reduced rate (over what the port charges) parking.
