Rome hotel recommendation needed

I will be in Rome at the end of October and need a recommendation for a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of the sights. This is my first trip to Rome so I'm not familiar with the area. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like the The De La Ville - Roma. It is at the top of the Spanish Steps and just to the right. Charming accomodations and very convenient to everything.

I can tell you one to avoid. We stayed at the Sheraton Roma Hotel and Conference Center.....Yecchhhh, one of my least favorite hotels. Expensive, lousy service, food is outrageously priced and poorly prepared and no one at the hotel could care less. Avoid it at all cost.

Does anyone have any feedback on Hotel Turin in Barcelona. I booked very late and this seems to be best choice.

The Raval district is really sleazy, but the hotel is only a block or so off Las Ramblas so it should be OK. It does look like a nice property so I would go for it. It is in a great location to see Barcelona's major attractions.

Just make sure you head towards Las Ramblas and not away from it...VBG. On the other hand, do explore the Raval district for some insight into Barcelona's darker side.
