This is my first time bidding for a 4 star hotel room on priceline.com and it seems that I'm having a bit of trouble. We're trying to bid for 2 rooms for 6 people around the downtown ft. lauderdale area, but the website says that the rooms are only double occupancy. How will I know if I'm getting a room large enough when I'm bidding? Anyone have any experience with using priceline's bidding system before? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can't tell for certain, except that when you bid for a 4-star hotel, you are bound to get one of the major hotel chains, which generally would have cots available. Once your bid is accepted, you can contact the hotel directly tio ask for two double beds (instead of king if that is what you want). No guarantee they can do it but i have not had a problem with it.

If I remember right, when you bid, you enter the number of people that will be in the room. Also, the closer to the date you want a room, the better your chances are to get the best price. I usually start at $75 for a 4-star. I've always have great deals using priceline.

When I bid I am never given a chance to choose how many people. It does state that your room price is based on double occupancy only. I just bid on a room with 2 beds. I figure I will argue with them when I get there but so far no one has ever challanged me over the number of people.
Hi SanDee,thank you for your reply. I already booked a room with 2 kings at the Hampton Inn near the airport, of course it is expensive because of spring break. I'll take Sonny advice to bid on Priceline when it's getting closer to my cruise, hopefully I'll get a cheaper price, then cancel the other room
