Where to stay

I am sailing from Miami on the 17th December for 7 nights then 7 nights from Fort Lauderdale bringing us back to Fort Lauderdale 31st December. our question is where to stay when we return. Miami or Fort Laduderdale. What is there to do etc. Can anyone give us any guidance please.

Miami is more cosmopolitan and more expensive, but south beach is the rage now. Ft. Lauderdale is my home town, so for my personal preference, that is where I would stay. There is a hotel called the TropiRock that is close to the ocean and reasonably priced in Ft. Lauderdale. There are also expensive hotels on 17th street causeway and on the beach. There are many, many hotels in Miami that have been redone on Collins Avenue (South Beach). It will be pricey, but there are some great restaurants and clubs on the strip. There are some great restaurants in Ft. Lauderdale on Las Olas Boulevard and my favorite in the Sea Watch in north Lauderdale right on the ocean. Hope you enjoy your cruises!!
