Miami Hotel on beach any suggestions?

We are leaving on the NCL Jewel 02/05/2006 and want to find a nice hotel, near the beach with free airport transfer. This will be our 3rd Cruise out of Miami and we have never had an opportunity to visit Miami Beach. We are looking for a hotel in the $200-$250 range or cheaper if available. I have looked at many of the web sites offered in the forums but most of those hotels are more cost related and not located near the beach. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

It´s a distance from Miami Beach to the Port in Miami. We paid 22 $ for a taxi from our hotel in South Beach to the port.
Maybe you find a hotel with shuttle transfer, we did not.
Maybe somebody else knows more about it.
