Does anyone know of any cheap hotels around miami preferably close to the airport and the port. We will be flying out on sat. Sep. 30 and catching the ship on sunday Oct. 1. We will be sailing on the valor.
Be cautious about cheap. Ofcourse everyone desires the "cheapest" but sometimes it is in your best interest to pay more. I have stayed at the Days Inn North, and at the Days Inn Civic Center. Both were cheap, but were very undesirable properties. They were noisy, run down, not the cleanness, and I wasn't too sure about how safe I felt.
we stayed at a fairfield inn(north/doral area)305.599-5200 got it thru pricelice for $50.00. it has a nice pool also. they also have free airport shuttle serviceand for $12.00 per room they offer shuttle service to the port. the only draw back was the lack of resturants in the area,bit we had planned to go to bayside market place(biscayne bay)to eat at bubba gumps!
One thing to consider is, you might get a cheap hotel, but if it has nothing around it and then you end up spending taxi money going back and forth to get to a restaurant, shopping etc. Then you might as well spend more for a hotel within walking distance to things. That is why I like Holiday Inn Port of Miami. It is right across the street from Bayside market. You can spend the whole evening there eating, shopping, and entertainment.
Try priceline and bid for your room. Just got a 4 star room in Coral Gables right on the Miracle Mile for $65/night. That's for New Years Eve and the 30th which I believe would be a higher priced time. I'd start bidding at around $40 if I were you.
