Miami Hotels

My family will be sailing on Freedom of the Seas in March 2008. My sister and her husband will be flying in from the Northeast, while my husband and I, brother with brain injury, my son and his two girls will be flying in from Phoenix, Arizona. This will be my brother and sister's first cruise. We would like to arrive 2 or 3 days ahead but are not booking air or hotel from RC. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to stay and the best way to get from hotel to ship? I want things to go as smoothly as possible. Thanks

Maricopa, My suggestion would be to find a hotel near the Miami port so if you took a cab to the pier it won't cost you a whole lot. You should also check with the hotel you are staying at to see if they have a shuttle that you can use for transportation to the pier and possibly from the airport as well. Contact the Chamber of Commerce and/or the Visitor Bureau in Miami to see what they suggest. I have found that the info that you can get out of them is as good as any.

Hey Maricopa welcome to cruise chat. I also live in phoenix. I am an RN, I work at St. Joe's in ICU. It is nice to have a neighbor on this board. Anyways, most of us, including me, stay at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. I book directly with them. I believe most people take a taxi, from the airport and hotel. I have also been on the Freedom. I loved her. Once again welcome. By the way, where did this wind come from? Summer is definately around the corner. Lil' Lori
