Hi,
Can anyone recommend a hotel in a great location to stay at the night before a cruise on the Voyager in Miami? Should I rent a car to get from MIA to the Port? There are six of us?
Thanks,
Susan
No need to rent a car unless you plan to do lots of sightseeing outside the city. The airport is not all that far from the cruise port, and the hotels you will likely consider will be either near the airport, or near the bay, closer yet to the port. For six of you, you can take a couple taxis, or (more expensively) a Super Shuttle van.
There are plenty of hotels that offer shuttle service from Miami International. There have been quite a few posts that recommended the Holiday Inn by the port. Most Holiday Inn's we've stayed at have offered shuttle service. Best wishes.
Thanks Karen, this will be the first time there will be more than 4 of us. Six people (4 are my grown kids), changes things significantly with transportation and rooms. Yikes...double everything. Susan
Is the Holiday Inn the closest to port? How far is the Courtyard Marroitt? and is the Hyatt to far? We are wanting to stay somewhere nice. Close enough to the port, a beach & some shopping.
Hi, I'm staying at the courtyard by Marriott. The website says it's only 1/2 a mile from port. I've never stayed there so I can't say how good it is. I hope it is nice but even if it isn't, it's only for a night and then you get to enjoy your cruise!
Thanks for the tip. I'm currently booked at the Holiday Inn, but I need 2 rooms and with taxes and all for just one night, I'm paying over $400 for the rooms...$200 each. I'm thinking this is way too high for these basic standard rooms. What does anyone else think? I booked directly with H.I. so that I would have the option to cancel if for some reason we couldn't make the trip. If you don't book directly with them, there are NO refunds, period.
We stayed at the Biscayne Bay Marroitt - The rooms are about $129.00 a night. They have a shuttle to the port for $5.00 a person. This was a great hotel. I will always stay here when coming to Miami.
