I will be going on the Freedom of the Seas for the first time leaving out of Miami, FL in January. I have been looking at Miami hotels and notice that prices are not cheap. I am debating wether to stay at the airport and take a shuttle from there or stay closer to the port and deal with transportion. Any ideas on a good clean hotel to stay in without breaking the bank and do any of them offer free shuttle services to the port???

Hi wlcox6801, welcome to Cruise-Chat. If you'll look a little further down the main page, there is a section titled Port Hotels and Transfers. By using your find feature, in the upper left hand corner, and typing in Miami, all the posts will be pulled up relative to Miami Hotels/Transportation. Best wishes for a wonderful cruise and once again, welcome aboard!

hi we stayed in the intercontinental on bayside, this hotel is perfect, its right next to the bayside shopping and restaurants. You can even see the port as its just on the other side of the bay.

Just got back from the FOS. We stayed at the Holiday Inn & it's right across the street from Bayside. We did a little shopping, had dinner & listened to a Latin band.

Stayed at Intercontinental through RC reservation. LOVE staying at Bayside. Lots of activity, a 14 dollar taxi ride to South Beach, and the great view of ships when you wake up in morning! So exciting!

We have ressies to stay at the Holiday inn for our Jan '09 cruise. We booked it because of there will be things to do instead of just staying at our hotel. It said that a taxi from hotel to port is around $5.00.
