parking in Galveston

I know hotels will allow you to park for free if you stay with them. Does anyone have any comments or past experiences doing this? Sailing March 18 out of Galveston.

We left a car at the Hilton Garden Inn (located along the seawall) during our cruise out of Galveston and they provided free shuttle to the port and also picked us up to return us to our car after the cruise.

The galveston Holiday Inn also allows this. And provides a shuttle. But if you are traveling March 18th, you may be out of luck on a Galveston hotel room reservation. If you are forced to find a room in huston, look into reserving a parking spot at EZcruise.com They offer port parking at a reduced rate and offer the same shuttle services to the ship as the cruise parking does.
