I have been on 5 cruises, and I will never leave from Galveston again ! Transfer was a NIGHTMARE ! I investigated for a week how to get from the Houston airport to Galveston and Galveston Limo was recommended by everyone. Only a 1 -1.5 hour bus ride,,, NOT ! We visited both Houston airports, 8 yes 8 termials, 2 cruise ships and 4.5 hours later we were there !! It was ridiculous. On the return trip it was just as bad. We actually had to ask the driver to pull over we were so hungry and we ate at some burger joint, 4 hours into the trip. It is only a 43 mile drive, heck I could have walked there by that time. Houston a filthy city all they have on the highway is 24 hour sex video shops and liquor stores.
My advice, spend the extra $20.00 and take a cab, you will get ther in 1/4 of the time and will go directly to your hotel with out driving to 2 airports and 6 terminals and 2 cruise ships. Oh! and have fun !

Wow, that is crazy. I leave from Galveston too but since we live in Fort Worth, we drive down. And the whole trip takes 5 hours. I would have been extremely upset if it took that long just to go from Houston to Galveston.
Galveston is about 40 miles from the airports, so I'm not sure if a taxi would be cheaper or not. Was the 4.5 Hours on Carnival transfer bus or a private shuttle?
Anyone else ever do this and use the Carnival shuttle service?
