Transportation back to the Airport

We are sailing on the Victory at the end of Sept out of New York. We are flying back out of JFK. Carnival doesn't have transfers to JFK. Does anyone know how hard it might be to get a cab? Is there a better way? We are concerned about prearranging transportation in case the ship gets back to port late. Thanks.

Here you find estimated prices for the sections. But I would call such a limo service and ask if they can handle it if you call in a 2-hours-range when you see when the ship is supposed to arrive.

There will be a huge line outside the terminal waiting in lines to get a taxi. You wil probably have to wait 30 minutes or so for our turn but it crowded but not that bad. There will also be Car service people walking around soliciting you for business. We took one of the offers for the car service and it worked out fine, the rate is basically the same as a cab but no real wait. Don't sweat it there will be plenty of options to get you to the airport.

As jashley noted, there will be a lot of other pax waiting outside the terminals for a taxi. My advice is to do what we always do... take the elevator to the lowest level of the terminal, walk across 12th Avenue, and flag a taxi from there. It takes just a few minutes, and is not a long walk at all. The porter will take you as far as the curb before crossing the street.
