We have booked a cruise on Infinity to South America for March 15. Anyone out there with suggestions for hotel in Buenos Aires and Valparaiso or Santiago? Also, info on the ship. Have been on many Celebrity cruisings, but not this ship. Other port info would be helpful.

I am booked on a SA Antarctica cruise next month that is 16 days RT from Buenos Aires. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express Puerto Madero precruise, and the Hilton postcruise (also Puerto Madero area). I know of people who have stayed at both of these and have been satisfied. Many people on our sailing are going to stay at the Marriot, Sheraton Liberator, or Intercontinental post or precruise. Hope this helps you.

We just returned from the same trip on Celebrity Infinity and had a fabulous trip. We stayed at the Hilton Buenos Aires one night post cruise. Read yesterday that it is #2 in Frommers Budget Travel best S. America hotel value. In Santiago we stayed two nights at the San Cristobal Tower which is adjacent to the Sheraton hotl but part of Starwood's Luxury Collection. I can't say enough about the room, the food, and the service was first class. You don't stand in line to check in but sit at a desk and all guests have complimentary butler service!! We arranged both thru our travel agent and got a better deal that way. Some people on our Andes tour stayed at the Hyatt and weren't real thrilled with the cost of food and drink etc. Have a great time!!

We are leaving on March 30 for S.A. on Infinity and will be staying at the San Cristobal Tower for 2 nights before the cruise. I am very curious about the location of the hotel as it has a different address than for the Sheraton, but you said the Tower was adjacent to the Sheraton hoel. I am asking because my sister is staying at the Hyatt and we are trying to figure out how far apart we are and what is the best method for going between the hotels. Any information you could give me would be appreciated.

Hello Cheryl

We will be on this cruise. Never cruised Celebrity before but am looking forward to it. Look at the cruise review section on this site and you will find some for the Infinity.

We were told for Bueanos Aires, that Meliá Buenos Aires Hotel was terrific and close to Florida Street, etc... You can find it online

Celebrity will arrange a transfer and post stay at the Sheraton in Santiago if you so desire. We will be at the Hotel Monterilla in Vina Del Mar. A boutique type place, recommended and not too expensive. It is online also.

For tours in the Valparaiso and Santiago area, try Arianna Matteucci arianna@netline.cl She works out of the Sheraton in Santiago and is very responsive and will work to meet your needs.

Happy cruising!
