Fort Lauderdale Airport to Cruise Port Distance

Anyone know how far it is from the Fort Lauderdale Airport to the port? Also, if I book my airfare separately, is a taxi the best way to go cost wise?

I assume you mean Port Everglades, the cruise port in Ft. Lauderdale, and not the Miami cruise port? If so, the Ft. Lauderdale airport is literally next door to the cruise port, but because of the nature of the roads, it takes maybe 10 minutes. Taxi is the way to go.

Yes, I guess it is Port Everglades. I was just looking at a cruise and it stated that the departure port was "Fort Lauderdale." Thanks for the information.

My husband and I will be flying into Fort Lauderdale airport for our next cruise and I see that Sandy says a taxi is the best way. Is it difficult to get a taxi and where do we go to find one at the airport? I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb question but we have usually taken the cruise line shuttle in the past.

I'm sorry, as I'm ready through the posts again, I see that you are talking about going from FLL airport to the Port Everglades. We will be cruising out of Miami. Any suggestions still about taxis or anything? The cruise line shuttle is expensive!

You can call the Fort Lauderdale taxi company and they can give you the exact cost of taking a taxi from the airport to the port. They quoted us $10.00 for the ride and that is not per person. I can't find their phone number, but try calling the Ft Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau, 954-765-4466.

In 2007, the taxi stand was right outside bagage claim. Someone there to help. Easy way to go.

Miami International to the port of Miami should be $24. Ft. Lauderdale International to Port Everglades should be no more than $10.
