Best way to get to Miami

I'm flying in from Newark, NJ. IF I use RC they will charget me almost $800 for two people. If I fly using Jet Blue I can save $600 dollars but have to fly into Fort Lauderdale. Since I'm not familiar with the area. What would be a good way to get to Maami? I was thinking of renting a car and driving to Miami but is there a shuttle that will bring me to the port once I drop the car off?
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Cruise line airfare is rarely a good deal, as you've discovered. I suggest you try Top Shuttle (google them) and reserve a van. It should be around $75 for a ride from FLL to the Port of Miami, and that is a flat rate for up to 4 passengers and their luggage. They are a great shuttle service.
