Ft Lauderdale airport to Miami Port - Fastest, most relaible way???
Are we crazy to believe we can arrive Ft Lauderdale airport at 1:10 pm, carry-on luggage only, and make it to the Royal Caribean terminal at Port of Miami before 3:00? This is on a Monday. What would be the absolute most reliable way to do this?
First cruise - misunderstood the time frames when we made our flight arrangments::confused: |
You'll have to eat the cost of a taxi for that. No other really good option at this point. $90 and about 45 minutes driving time. I hope your flight arrives on time.

Wow, that is a tight connection. If you can, I might bite the bullet, so to speak, and pay the change fee and any difference in air fare, and see if you can arrive earlier on that Monday, or pay for a hotel, and arrive that Sunday night.

I agree with McPayne. If everything goes like clock work, then yes, you can make it. If there's a wreck or your plane is late or anything else happens, probably not. If you booked your flight with RCI, then they'd hold the ship, but I don't think you did because they wouldn't have cut it that close. Good luck!

To expand on Penny's point, even if you book your airfare through RCI, they will not necessarily hold the ship if it's just a few passengers that are late. If it's a large amount of passengers, then they will. What that cutoff number is, I don't know.
I do know on my last cruise, I overheard someone on the walkie-talkie at Orlando Airport state that a United flight was delayed until 1:00 pm, and scheduled arrival was 10:00 am. This was again at Orlando Airport, with a 4:30 pm set sail time out of Port Canaveral, 45 minutes to 1 hour from Orlando Airport. At our second port of call, which was Ocho Rios, Jamaica, I saw passengers with large suitcases boarding the ship, as we were leaving the ship to explore the port for the day. Whether or not those passengers were on that flight that was late, I don't know. |
