Ft. Lauderdale - Post Cruise Everglades Airboat Ride
Could you tell me about the Everglades Airboat Ride? After the description of this excursion on the RCC website, there is a medical condition warning about anyone having neck, back, knee or shoulder problems or a huge list of other medical conditions should take particular caution when selecting a tour. How hard is this excursion?
I haven't done this specific tour but I have been in airboats. It can be a hard ride at times with the boat slapping down hard on the water. You just never know because it depends on the weather and water conditions. Thus, they give the maximum warning in the tour description. You will have to sign a legal waiver.
We have been on airboat rides several times in the Everglades. We have had drivers who actually went too slow and others that gave us a great ride.
If you can obtain the name of the tour company, you could probably call them and ask your question. Some of the airboat rides go through mangrove forests and others "fly" over
the swamp grass. I suppose it could make a difference which area you would be touring.
As Dave mentioned, they do wave-jump sometimes. Don't know if that would be an issue for you or not.
If you are able to manage it, medically, it's a fun thing to do.
