Transferring from Miami to Ft Lauderdale

Hi,
We are cruising in late November. I am curious if anyone has ever taken the train from MIA to FLL and then caught a taxi to the port? It appears this would be about $10 for the train and $10 for the taxi. We are arriving the day before the cruise so we have time the next morning. Looking for any thoughts on the train transporation.

No, I haven't tried the train, but it sounds a lot less expensive than taking a cab, shuttle or limo. If you do this, please let us know how it works out. I've either driven down or rented a car.
