recommend a hotel?

Can someone recommend a clean safe hotel with airport shuttle in ft. lauderdale Fl. and if you know if there are any resturants near by the hotel you recommend. Thanks in advance, decide to book another cruise with NCL after our cruise last month was cancel,yippe can't wait

Hi Wendy.

I've had good success with Choice Hotels brands, and this hotel offers an airport / cruise port shuttle. If you are a AAA member, make sure you specify that when you book the room, as it will save you about 10%. Glad to hear that you're booking with NCL again, after what happened last time. There are a number of restaurants that they say are "nearby," if you click on the link that says "what's nearby" on the left side of the page.

I've been staying at the La Quinta Ft. Lauderdale Airport. It's clean, includes breakfast, it's not expensive, and there's a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to the pier.

There is a shopping center within walking distance that has many restaurant choices.

The Sleep Inn at the airport gets good reviews too. A very good Mexican restaurant across the street by Publix. They give 15% off if you show your hotel keycard. The Sleep Inn also has shuttles for both airport and to the ship.

thanks everyone, I thought the shuttle to and from the airport, althought we will have to shuttle from the hotel to miami, because thats were our cruise leaves from, but we didn't want to stay in miami if that makes sense, LOL

Sorry, Wendy. Didn't realize you were flying into and out of Fort Lauderdale but cruising out of Miami. Not sure how many people are in your group, but for transportation to Miami, you may want to consider a one way car rental from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Miami Airport, then taking a taxi from Miami airport to the Port of Miami. Fare from the Miami airport to the port is $24 per cab (not per person), flat rate.

Again, not sure how many are in your party, but the car rental option may be the cheapest if there are a lot of people.
