We stayed at the Sleep Inn in Fort Lauderdale the night before our cruise. They picked us up at the airport and gave us a ride to the port in the morning-complimentary. The hotel was clean and had a complimentary breakfast, we would stay there again. There were several hotels that advertised complimentary shuttle to the airport and port, we chose this one because it had good reviews on travelocity and expedia.

Did y'all take the water taxi while you were there? Where did you go to eat? There are a lot of great places in Ft. Lauderdale, the Sea Watch is one of my favorites as well as the Pier 66 Bar & Grill. Plus there are a lot of hole in the wall places or Lester's diner that have good food and reasonable prices. Thank you for sharing your experience at the Sleep Inn.

Did you book yourself, or through the cruise line? We were told that if we book flights through RCL, we need to fly out the day before and are assigned a hotel, but don't have a say with which hotel. A little nervous about where they will put us...

If you book through RCL, they will give you a choice of hotels. Most likely will be the Renaissance (extremely nice), the Hyatt Pier 66 (extremely nice), or one of the Mariotts. If you book yourself, anything on 17th street causeway will be near the port. Anything on A1A will be near the ocean. The only hotel on the beach is the Sheraton Yankee Clipper and then only the older section of the hotel. It is always our recommendation to come in at least one day early, if not more. That way you eliminate the stress of missing your ship. Hope this helps!
