We are taking the Disney cruise next month and want to do Pompeii and Vesuvius on our own. We have directions on how to get to Pompeii on train but, how do you get to Vesuvius from Pompeii? Thanks!

We visited Pompeii and Vesuvius using a taxi
I cannot see how you could get to Vesuvius except by taxi or by an excursion
Pompeii is much bigger than you might expect so it is a rush to see both in 1 day
We were charged approximately 120 euros but we are British-might charge more if you are American!
Enjoy your cruise

Hi Geordie!
Thanks for your response! They do have buses that run up Vesvius but, I have read that they are unreliable. Taxi may be the way to go. You're right, we may be charged more since we are American. We are planning our first trip to London on July 3rd and looking forward to visiting your beautiful country!

Pompeii is the destination... As far as the volcano is concerned, it is very visible from the ancient ruins. It's less than five miles away. What do you wish to do at Mt. Vesuvius?

We would like to go to the top and view it from the walking paths.

Kelkel

Hope you enjoy your visit to the UK -hopefully it will have stopped raining by then!
Seriously though there is plenty to see in London whatever the weather and I am sure you will enjoy your visit

I was thinking of both in a day as well to keep the teenagers active! As far as London goes the best way to see it as tourist is to get the train to Greenwich, spend some time in Greenwich Park and then walk behing the cuttysark boat (located pastthe bottom of the park). Then get a the boat (about 5) all the way through (guided tour) City cruises and it will drop you off at the Millenium wheel in central London. A Great day
