Getting to Topkapi Palace & Grand Bazaar in Instanbul

It looks like I can take a taxi to the Old City and the Blue Mosque. What is the best method of travel to the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar? How far is the distance from the ship?

Hello...Yes, you can take a taxi to the Old City. You can easily walk everywhere as the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar are really very close. Just take a good map and you'll have no problem. If you look at your map, you'll see a bridge from the Old City to the newer part...the ship is right across that bridge...about five to ten minutes by taxi depending on traffic. Istanbul is very clean and beautiful; the people are friendly and many of them speak English if that's important to you. Enjoy!

I couldn't agree more! Istanbul is one of the most interesting ports in the world and is very user friendly. We always walk from the ship, over the bridge and into the Spice Market. From there simply walk uphill until you enter the Grand Bazaar. You will absolutely love Istanbul.

Same here, I loved the exhibits on the Topkapi Palace and had fun bargaining with the vendors at the Grand Bazaar. The carpet show was a little overwhelming, but great nonetheless. Have a great cruise.
