We will be in Italy, Greece, Turkey. Do we have to use local currency, or will they take dollars? Better with credit card?? Local currency for small market areas?? Please advise.

Turkey will take all forms of cash - Dollar, Pound Sterling, Euro or the Turkish Lira. Greece and Italy use the Euro, if you want to use cash there, you will need to exchange Dollars for Euros. Use your credit card as much as possible, that will reduce the amount of money you exchange. And the credit card gives you the best exchange rate. (Or use a debit or credit card in a local ATM and you'll get a good rate too.)
