Can anyone suggest a cruise line and/or cruise to choose, or avoid, when planning a Mediterranean cruise. We are planning a fall 2010 cruise. Italy is one of the destinations. We've cruised before but not in the Mediterrean.

Depends on what you are looking for in a cruise line, budget etc

A good TA would be the best to find what suits your needs.

We all have different needs/wants for a cruise experience

If you've cruised before and were happy with the cruise line, why not stick with them? You are not going to find a big difference on the major cruise lines between the Med and any other itinerary. The places you visit are what make the Mediterranean unique, not the ship or cruise line.

But as Lyn says, a good travel agent is your best resource for choosing a cruise line.

For the Med, it is all about the ports and not so much the ship or cruise line. As f-mattox says - it is the places you visit that make the cruise, and not the cruise line. I'd look for the itinerary that I liked best and then find the best price and simply go with it regardless of the cruise line.
