Does anyone have any recomendations of where to stay or not to stay in Rome the night of 9/30/08? We really want to try to see a lot of Rome, but we are already spending so much that we don't want to get too many nights there. Also. . .is there a transfer from certain hotels to the ship or are we better off just flying on on the 1st and going to the ship?
Like I said this is our first cruise and our first ( and most likely only) trip to Europe so any and all information would be greatly appreciated!
Even if anyone has any websites that are recommended for looking up info or anything that would be great!!

First of all, welcome to cruise-chat. Secondly, and more important, congrats on your pending marriage and your first cruise.
Lets get things into proper perspective here. (1) You have plenty of time to plan for this - no rushing, OK? (2) Do you have any idea what you'd like to see in Rome? If you are not sure, Google Rome and do a little research. Start a list. Once you get to this point, we can start looking at areas of Rome you might want to stay in.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Most of us who frequent this and similar sites love helping people out. By the way, I seriously doubt that this will be your first and last cruise.
