I am doing a bit of research for my cruise Carnival Freedom Aug 5, 2007 out of Rome - I really would like to go to Vatican, see Basicalla, Sistene Chap, Vatican Museums - does anyone know if we get in sooner if we book a shore excursion with ship. Do we still have to wait in line??? Any info in this regard would be helpful.

This is one of the advantages of booking with the cruise line. They will have priority while gaining entrance to the various museums etc.
