Four of us are travelling London to Dover in mid August. Some friends of ours have advised it is quite easy to take the train from London out to the Dover Cruise Terminal. Does anyone have experience with the method of travel.
The cost of the train fare from Central London to Dover Priory station is £24 per person (which I thought a little expensive), you then need to get a cab to the relevant Terminal (1 or 2) in the Western Docks which costs about £7. The train journey time is 1hr 45mins.
You can get a single journey from as low £5 (they're quota driven) and the journey time from London is approx 2hr 45 to the centre of Dover, where you should expect to pay the same £7 cab fare to your Terminal.
