Venice Port to Hotel in San Marco Transportation

OK Kruzen Karen is going Krazy!!
We'll be getting off the Emerald Princcess in Venice on June 28th. What is the least expensive way to get from the port to our hotel around St. Mark's Square? (5 people) Does the ship have a free shuttle to Piazzole Roma? I think getting transportation from there is cheaper. Can you take the Vaporetto #1 or #82 from Piazzole Roma to San Marco. Do they let you put luggage on a Vaporetto?

You could take a water taxi it will take you right to the hotel (if on the canal)
Vaporetto is 6.50 Euro each per trip unless you get the Vaporetto pass
